Job Description
The Design Engineer will create concepts, design
and detailed drawings of subsea equipments. He will be doing
analytical calculations and creating / modifying drawings from model and
assembly.
Gather and study the relevant product information. Understand deliverable design requirements.
Undertake design / calculation projects from start to completion.
Prepare Conceptual Design Model / GA Drawings.
Develop new and modify existing component / system drawings.
Create manufacturing drawings from assembly drawings or models.
Review the models, drawings, calculation reports created by the peers.
Support the conversion of legacy drawings to later and/or different CAD formats, primarily AutoCAD to Solid Works conversion.
Conduct detailed reviews of existing drawings and mark-ups and incorporate drawing changes.
Validate Bills of Material against drawing detail views, drawing BOM tables, Enovia BOM tables etc.
Verify existence of all weld specifications, procedures and reference documents included in drawing notes.
Specify hardware for specific applications and populate assembly BOMs as required.
Checks the design for compliance with the relevant industry codes and with the client design specifications.
Documents the project related information.
Perform tolerance stack-ups for engineering drawings.
Monitor the changes in the requirements and update the product life cycle/process
Should be familiar with machine detail, assembly, general arrangement, concept, and weldment drafting requirements.
Participate in regular teleconference meetings with Engineering counterparts in US and other locations
Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems

Working knowledge of Enovia or other product Data Management System (PDM) and ERP system is preferred
Good communication skills.

Must be fluent in the English language.
Strong interpersonal skills.

SOFTWARE:
Knowledge and experience with ANSI and ASME drafting standards is desired. Familiarity with ASME, ASTM, DNV, SAE, API, and Machinery Handbook is highly desirable.
